ST Episode Three: The One-Hit Misses, Part One

Light, our intrepid Sporker, was taking a break from her current project. Sitting by a computer, she was surveying FFN for more material to work with.

"To the people who say that the Sonic fandom has the worst OCs: YOU ARE SOOOOO WRONG," Light cried out, holding her head in her hands.

Light: Alright, first, I suppose I should talk about the Pit.

The Pit, also known as Fanfiction.net, is where most badfics are situated. With OCs, canon-defilement, and just plain badness galore, the Pit is most often regarded as the best place to find sporkable material.

I disagree. But I'll elaborate on that another time. For now, let's check out some badfics.

Now, I've found a few in my major fandoms that only have one chapter. While others may have more sporked material and may get updated again *Shudder* it's unlikely I'll be continuing them.

Now, as...interesting "Legend of Zelda: A Vampire's Mate" sounds, we're going with a classic Suefic to start.

So, let's read "The Savior" by AsunaTaiga.

First off, the summary!

Okay, first off, classic Sue indicator. Name of the Sue being the same as the author's screen name. (Hypocritical, much?)

And wasn't Kaneki the name of Tokyo Ghoul's protagonist? I can't remember; it's been a while since I've read it.

Alright, so that was the summary. I took a quick glance at the author's profile, as well. Just making sure they were a native English speaker (they are), and I found two more Suefics for two separate fandoms. Also, she's a probably weeaboo.

Finally, she has two fanfics favourited. One for a fandom I don't know (Ghost Hunt), and one Link x OC fic.

Onto the fic itself, which is 1, 506 words.

I have many emotions regarding this scene. Indifference, rage, boredom, that feeling when you see Final Fantasy IX sitting right there and you can't play it because you have work to do...

"Because the savior and the hero of legend put an end to the curse."

I'm not liking that title drop...

"How did they end it?"

Okay, pause. I'm confused. Is she from our world, or Hyrule? I'd guess our world, but then why is she taking all of this talk about Hyrule so calmly?

"I'll tell you, this legend has to do with the princess of legend, the hero of legend, the Evil of legend,

"And the horse of legend, and the owl of legend, and the fairy of legend, and the clay pot of legend..."

Legend is starting to not look like a word anymore.

Oh, and also: yes, "Evil" is capitalized in the fic proper. It personally brings Mermaid Man to mind, which is filling me with glee as I speak.

...Hoo boy. Time for a rant.

Now, I'm not going to rant about the "Person from our world ends up in *INSERT WORLD HERE*" genre. That's for another time.

Nooo, see, she mentioned an upside down Triforce. This, combined with that last sentence, made me understand exactly what she's thinking.

The Fourth Triforce. Ugh, I hate that.

Listen. THERE IS NO FOURTH TRIFORCE. HENCE THE WORD "TRI". If Nintendo intended for there to be a Fourth Triforce, I'm positive they would've said something by now.

However, that still doesn't stop the Suethors from giving their Sues/Stus the Fourth Triforce as an added bonus.

And that makes me angry. And Suethors don't like me when I'm angry.

Just...*Sigh*. Look. This goes out to every fanfic author out there. If you're planning on writing a fanfic, follow the pre-established rules that canon provides. And if you want to write an AU, well...I'd say to keep following most of the rules, but add in a few minor tweaks here and there. Either the tweaks, or come up with a functioning set of rules for your own fanfic.

....What? Hells to the no. Link has Courage and so on, that's Zelda 101, what the actual frick.

And of course everything is because of the Sue. Another strike.

She asked if the triforce was whole...implying the entire Triforce that Skyward Sword Link made a wish on...and this dude took it as asking if the Triforce was in its regular three segments?

Alright. Since I'm getting bored, and I want to cram more fanfics into this episode, I'm going to summarize the next little bit.

So, the mysterious man says that he won't be telling a story, he'll be telling a "legend of truth", then proceeds to call it a story in his very next sentence.

Now, we get a date and location!

Asuna's Pov

Oh, Gods.

First off: that "*NAME*'s POV" thing? It rarely works in fanfics.

Second, jeez that's a lot of fives! That's almost as bad as Anime and the number seven!

...Not even joking, look it up.

So Asuna has a daydream where she's called "Princess" (Bleh.) and told to "protect the unity". Also, sentences from the person who's not Asuna look like this:

Light_ you're a stupidhead.

She gets snapped out of her daydream by a Miss Nanami, who proceeds to give us a lesson on Japanese.

"As i was saying before Asuna-chan what does Oyasumi mean?"

"Goodnight"

"Can you use it in a sentence?"

"Oyasumi mama. Oyasumi no otōsan"

And, of course, A-Sue-Na gets everything correct. Since I can't speak Japanese and don't trust Google Translate, I'll have to count on actual speakers to tell me if this is correct or not.

And also, remember: our author is from the US. I smell a weeaboo in our midst more and more...

A-Sue-Na gives us some information about herself.

As i take notes let me introduce myself. My name is Asuna Kaneki and i am 15 years old, i go to serino academy in japan.

Another quick question for Japanese readers: Is this honestly how high school goes about in Japan? I doubt it, but just for reference, I'll give an example. Anyway, the bell rings. Miss Nanami asks A-Sue-Na to stay behind, and a girl named Crista teases her for it.

Miss Nanami proves herself as the best character in this fic when she makes sure everything is alright with A-Sue-Na, tells her to let her know when she's feeling faint again, and generally acting like an actual teacher. Way to go, Miss Nanami!

So after leaving the classroom, A-Sue-Na gets ambushed by Crista and her pals. Crista then proceeds to say the worst insult I've ever heard.

"Hey sleepy! What's wrong want a blanket?" She teased

Seriously? That's the best you can come up with?

Crista then has a dumb blonde moment, thinking that having long ears makes you deaf. So we now know that A-Sue-Na is Hylian. Great.

By the way, people can actually be born with pointed ears. It's usually corrected at birth by doctors, but some people also go to have the points surgically added to their own ears. The more you know~

Anyway, A-Sue-Na arrives at her home, slams the door shut, Crista proceeds to call A-Sue-Na "Elfy" and A-Sue-Na gets sad at that.

She proceeds to say hello to her empty house, saying that it was empty and a house twice.

We then get this gem of a sentence.

I walked inside and did my homework, i wish there was other people in my home not just me. Sometimes i hate being a orphan and emancipated minor.... . .it gets lonely.

A-Sue-Na's an orphan and an emancipated minor?! What?!

The gist of emancipated means being relinquished of your parents guardianship. So...I mean, technically she is, but I think she'd be in an orphanage, if that was the case. I'm not entirely sure if you can get emancipated from orphanages, but I doubt it.

And then the plot thickens!

suddenly i felt dizzy.

Ooh, the poison's finally kicking in! Hooray!

Okay, so she's not dead. She's just getting another brain-mail from her BFF, the darkness. The darkness tells her that she has to protect the unity and all that jazz, then says that she'll be going home soon.

After that, A-Sue-Na wakes up panting (...Out of the gutter...) and...it's midnight now, apparently. Yeesh, seemed like that dream took five minutes, tops...

So, A-Sue-Na goes back to bed and we're back to the school!

School was somehow worse than before, more people bullied me then usual and i kept getting all the questions wrong and kept getting in trouble.

"A-Sue-Na! What did I say about reading that kind of material in class?! Nobody wants to see your smutty, hentai, vampire Sonadow fanfic!"

...I guarantee you that exists somewhere.

So we then jumpcut to lunch-

*Whip crack*

OW! Hell, why do I have to get whiplash from jumpcuts?!

Back to the fanfic...A-Sue-Na mentions that their cafeteria was under construction. What kind of school opens without a cafeteria or canteen from the start?!

Ahem, anyway. A-Sue-Na proceeds to eat outside with the other students (Must be hell during winter...) and Crista dumps her lunch on A-Sue-Na's head.

A-Sue-Na then has a mental breakdown and runs into the woods.

Oh, that's why the school is so crappy. It's obviously on the grounds of Heavenly Host Elementary School!

A-Sue-Na runs into a clearing used to worship four goddesses through statues. The first three are, naturally, Din, Nayru, and Farore.

So she's in Hyrule now or...what?

We now get a description of the fourth statue.

But the one in the middle had my attention. She looked just like ....me... and the lookalike was holding the triangle i saw in my dreams the others were holding one as well but there's faced up.

Hopefully the upside down Triforce is actually supposed to signify her being a villain. Fingers crossed!

A-Sue-Na's statue starts glowing and she goes down the rabbit hole. She describes her "Princess" attire on a stained glass window that she landed on (Kingdom Hearts, much?). All you need to know is that it's a gown version of Link's tunic.

So, she screws up the colour of Zelda's Twilight Princess dress, thinking it's pink. Surprisingly, she remembers that the top piece of the Triforce is Power. I think she screws up which one is Wisdom and Courage, though. She says that Wisdom is the bottom left piece, but I'm not too sure about that.

Anyways, she mentions a girl with "black and blue skin", who is obviously Midna. But she also says that this girl is "half small". I don't know what that means, but okay.

A-Sue-Na gets beckoned towards the light (YES!), and hears this:

"Zelda, link, mida, ganon"

..."Mida"?

Almost done, almost done...

The chapter ends with A-Sue-Na hearing voices calling each other Link and "Lilia" (Ilia, damn you) and Link taking her to rest in his place.

Okay! Phew, that took a lot longer then expected!

Second...well, I won't actually be reading this one. It's a tad too long for my oneshot tastes. But...I just want you all to see this author's note.

The fic is "majoras mask the second curse" by remorsful fanfic writer.

Alright then, let's move on to some lesser-known games. And no, despite containing MANY badfics, I won't be looking at Five Nights at Freddy's. Mainly because it's about to overtake Ace Attorney and I'm not happy.

You know, it's easy to find badfics for Final Fantasy. Considering every hero (Not counting Yuna and Terra, of course) is a sparkly, handsome dude, it should be easy to find Suefics in each game category, right?

Took me an hour to find this gem. Surprisingly, short badfics are hard to find for Final Fantasy IX. Even harder when you have to ignore everything that has "Post-game" in the description.

The Tribal siblings were always different compared to most brothers, sure they competed a lot but nothing compared to Zidane and Cole Tribal, the two brother always tried to one up each other

Considering this is Zidane we're talking about, I assume ladies were involved somehow.

Alright, summarizing.

So it says that Zidane was always the thief of the duo (Considering that's his in-game class...no freaking duh?) and that Cole always carried himself like a chivalrous knight and-

Hold. I need to do a quick rant.

So...if you're a thief, then you can't be chivalrous? Because, even though I've only gotten up to meeting Freya in-game, Zidane seems waaaaaaaaay more chivalrous than most of the knights. I mean, despite his flaws, he seems to be a genuinely good guy.

Continuing, Cole is ready to leave and go to Alexandria. Um...it doesn't really say how he plans to get there, though. I'm going to think he'll be using a rowboat.

Zidane uses his thief/ninja skillz to sneak up on him, then says that if they ever meet again, he won't be afraid to cross swords with him. (Considering this is Zidane, going to assume that was some kind of innuendo and Cole didn't get it.)

So Cole leaves and suddenly, Baku! He mentions that the Alexandrian army consists of all women...

*Cough cough*STEINERANDPLUTOKNIGHTS*Cough cough*

Sorry. Had something in my throat. Anyways, Cole gets to the castle and...the knights immediately know what he came there for. Alright then.

So Beatrix enters the scene. She does a hair flip (Not even joking) and suddenly, battle! Cole's somehow able to use Sword Magic before Steiner asks Vivi for assistance with that. Okay.

Also, we now have-

So they fight. SOMEHOW, Cole survives. He gets admitted into the army, meets Queen Brahne, and...immediately becomes a General? Somehow, I don't think it works like that.

Anyways, without any warning-

*Whip crack*

-OW. We go to five months later. We skip the entire "performance" of "I Want to Be Your Canary" and go straight to after Garnet asked Zidane to kidnap her. Cole swears a lot, then this happens:

"No can Do brother Orders are Orders!" Zidane shouted as the captain of the knights of Pluto Steiner from the ship spoke.

Oh, so Steiner does exist? So why did he say every knight was female, then?!

"General Tribal leave this rif raft to me I'll bring back the Princess."

Okay, makes sense. Steiner was ordered to bring Garnet back, Steiner should beat Zidane-

He called as Cole shook his head. "No can do Stiner Zidane its like you said Orders are Orders and I have Orders to bring back the Princess. RELEASE THE BOMB!"

*Jaw drop*

I-COLE JUST TRIED TO MURDER STEINER.

I'm dead serious, he just ordered the knights to send out that huge-ass Bomb while fully knowing Steiner was still onboard the Prima Vista.

Are we sure that Cole isn't a villain?!

So, the Bomb obviously doesn't destroy the ship, and it's on course to the Dark Forest. Somehow, Cole sees this when the Prima Vista should be above the clouds by then. Cole and Beatrix (She was in that scene?) go back to inform Queen Brahne about the news, and...

Cole knows about the Black Waltzes.

...Again, we're sure that Cole isn't a villain?

So the story ends there. Bleh. That left a bad taste in my mouth. How about some blood and gore to make everything happy again?

A version of corpse party in the days of Kings and Queens. This story has all original characters.

...Or not...

So, as the title implies, this fic is from the series Corpse Party. It's a lesser known game series that you might have seen Cryaotic or PewDiePie play. I enjoy it, I have ships for it, all that regular stuff. It's like Highschool of the Dead, except a game, and it has less boobs and more blood/gore.

Fun, right?

So this one is called "Prince, Princess, and servant" by redpandamanda1. And, for once, no Sues! CONFETTI!

Ayumi pov.

I looked out the window at the kingdom next door. The prince was so hot.

...Cancel the confetti.

Can any of you picture a princess THAT ISN'T PEACH thinking like this? No? Good.

His brown eyes shimmered and his little sister was so cute.

Huh. Never heard people call it a little sister...

...I am so sorry.

"Yoshiki. Get over here." I scream.

Well-Jesus, tone it down a bit, Ayumi. You said that kind of monotonously, no need to scream.

Also, Yoshiki is my favourite character. Besides two other obvious picks. Just sayin'~

He entered the room. "Yes Miss Shinozaki" he asked calmly. "Bring this love letter to Mochida. "Yes ma'am" he said.

Mochida is the character named Satoshi, by the way. In this fic, he's the prince. And yes, Ayumi did have a thing for him in canon.

So, summarizing. Ayumi's kind of a bitch to Yoshiki. We then go to Yoshiki's POV, finding out he has a thing for Ayumi. Bitchiness must be a thing for him.

And yes, Yoshiki had a thing for Ayumi in canon. It was a lot sweeter there, though. And I do ship them so hard, thanks for asking.

So Satoshi's castle is apparently within walking distance (which explains how Ayumi could see him so easily), and Yoshiki gets there with no problem. And then one of my other favourites shows up!

Seiko pov.

Seiko provides no humour (Awwww...) and she and Naomi (The unofficial protagonist of Corpse Party, along with Satoshi) meet Yoshiki. Yoshiki pawns off Ayumi's letter to Seiko, and the chapter ends.

Yeah, did I mention this was a chapter fic? And that all of them were four hundred words, tops?

"So hey," Light started, looking up to the ceiling, "can I do this again next time? Because there's still some stuff I'd like to show the viewers."

Naturally, no response came from the Management.

Light smiled and took their lack of response as a yes. "Thanks!" Light said, hoisting her shovel over her arm and walking out of the Theatre.

The Management was intrigued. Perhaps they could receive additional energy from this...
